The Music Club Still Offers Opportunities to Sing!

Didi Nielsen | Published on 9/23/2020

These are challenging times for all the Clubs and Activities here in the Grand but the Music Club has come up with some creative ways to make it possible for members to be able to join up with other singers – either in a socially distanced group setting or virtually via Zoom. We just must remember that this too shall pass. Meanwhile, let’s do what the Music Club does best – entertain!

Pamela Weir has been directing the Grand Singers and the Grand Chorale for the past 5 years. Recently she started virtual sectional rehearsals with singers on Zoom. Over a four-week period, good progress was made. Pamela is especially proud of a Zoom video made with 10 singers offering their rendition of God Bless America that is currently offered on the Music Club’s new website.  God Bless America

Club Members will want to learn about a new App called Harmony Helper that will help those who want to mark their progress with pitch and rhythm tips. The basic App is free, providing training and educational features. For a fee, users can scan their own music which will help them learn new parts.

With the holidays fast approaching, we’re thinking about new ways we can still bring cheer, such as musical ‘strolls’ around the Village Square.

The Grand Singers welcome all new members who simply love to sing. Pamela focuses on keeping people motivated and having fun. If you have questions, give her a call at 623-556-1891.
